The Scenic Wildlife River Float is a relaxed, half-day guided experience designed for guests who want to enjoy wildlife, scenery, and a calm pace on the river without the intensity of fishing. This experience takes place on the Río Niño system near San José de Upala and is suitable for all ages and experience levels.

Guests meet their guide at Rio Niño Lodge before traveling to one of several launch points along the river. Launch locations are selected based on river levels, water clarity, and daily conditions, with drive times typically ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. This flexible approach allows each trip to focus on the best available sections of water for wildlife activity and scenic value.

The float follows slower, calm stretches of the river, allowing guests to sit back and take in the surroundings while the guide rows the drift boat. This experience is not focused on fishing, but rather on observing the natural environment and enjoying a peaceful river journey.

Wildlife sightings commonly include a variety of birds, monkeys, iguanas, turtles, and other native species that live along the riverbanks and surrounding vegetation. Each trip is slightly different depending on conditions and seasonal activity.

This experience does not require an overnight stay, though lodge accommodations and meals are available as optional add-ons for guests who wish to extend their visit.
